Twin City Speedway - Kannapolis, North Carolina
I don't have anything but memories of this track. I never attended a race there. I only visited it one time and that was long after racing had ceased there. It was a small (3/8 or 1/3 mile) dirt oval outside Kannapolis, North Carolina.
Named Twin City because of its location between Concord and Kannapolis it operated in the middle -late 60s. I don't remember why it closed. I do remember that the legend was that Ralph Earnhardt taught Heyward Plyler the fine art of dirt tracking there. And I think the biggest class they ran was 6 cylinder cars. No V8s, I guess because of the size of the track.
