OK, I know this is a site about dirt tracks. But Jack Walker sent me this pictures of a late model sportsman (Busch) race at Metrolina from 1974. Of course it was paved at the time, but it is worth it to see the cars from that time. Notice in one picture the lack of fans in the stands. I guess that is why it didn't stay paved for long. In fact, I remember one race that they called the race after qualifying because of the low number of paying fans. And it was a race full of top name, fast drivers.
