Tribute ’66 Chevelle
Below are photos of the completed tribute ’66 Chevelle to builders Don Duncan and Ken Porter, along with their drivers Dub Simpson and Larry Wallace…the car has already been shown at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Columbia Speedway…
It was built by Spraker Racing in the winter months with great attention to detail…Dub Simpson contributed his 1966 Concord Speedway track championship trophy and Larry contributed his 1967 Concord Speedway track championship trophy to be displayed with the car…many of the old timers will remember Dub Simpson, a local sign painter/racer, lettering NASCAR and dirt track cars just as he’s doing in one of the photos (with Tommy Poston)…
The car was built for both Make-A-Wish and Victory Junction Gang use, and retains GM vin numbers and a clear NC title, and can be driven on the street, although it is a real stock car built by a NASCAR team…
